Unlike other weather data providers who rely exclusively on singular inputs and then use simple interpolation methods to extend the weather information to your location of interest, Weather Source approaches its weather and climate data in a much different way. Weather Source’s patent-pending OnPoint Platform curates, decodes, and unifies data from the best weather sensing technologies available then stages the data on our OnPoint Grid. This globally consistent, 5-kilometer grid covers every land mass in the world and up to 200 miles offshore. Each grid point - 1.6 million in total—represents a “virtual” weather station with a unique OnPoint ID from which weather data can be mapped. This high-resolution method ensures your location of interest is never more than 2.2 miles away from an OnPoint ID.
We offer sample data for evaluation purposes and upon request, we will enable a sample share of past, present, forecast and climatology data in daily format for 1,000 U.S. ZIP codes and six international capital cities.
Additionally, Weather Source has designed a Retail Ready pre-packaged weather solution that includes the following weather data for all United States Postal codes (42,000 +/-):
- Daily Weather data in both hourly and daily format;
- Rolling four years of Historical data in both hourly and daily format;
- 15-day forecast data in both hourly and daily format;
- Climatology data in both hourly and daily format.
