Standardised predictor data sets for all modelling in the UK down to postcode level.
Over 60 postcode-level predictor variables updated annually covering:
- household income
- house type, size by rooms and tenure
- household occupants, ages, family composition and marital status
- occupation and economic activity
400 output area ( about 7 postcodes) variables updated at Census covering:
- population by age band,
- ethnicity and country of birth
- car and van availability
- communal residences, house tenure, people per room
- self-reported health and disability
- economic activity, occupation and industry
- family and marital composition, lone parent activity
- social-economic group and qualification level
All accessed by the latest quarterly postcode list, with historic values available.
Although many predictors are sex and age-banded you can use all the predictors in your models, or if wanting to include fewer variables you could use their principle components. For example we often use the top 30 principal components for the output area predictors.
